I just changed my header and a few other design elements for the first time in a while. Although I want my blog to look professional, I also really love PRETTY, so I'm trying to strike that balance. I loved my previous header--It was shorter in height and looked more professional but was kind of bland. (I'm considering a blog name change too, but that's another story! I don't exactly fit the "mom blogger" profile, as my kids are in their twenties, one still in college though...) I'm moving more to a craft/art/home feel to my blog. 1.) The header--one of my concerns is that my header may need to be narrower and wider. I can make it the width of my blog, but, due to the design I chose, that increases the height of the header. I'm sure I can have it made narrower and wider though--it's just a little outside my skill set, and I don't feel like messing with it myself! What do you think--too big right now? 2.) The template-- I've had this style template for a couple of years now (with multiple post snippets per page) and have gone back and forth with the idea of putting full posts per page, and less of them. What do you all think? 3.) Any other suggestions about the blog's elements are helpful too, as I am going through this blog design transition! www.anartfulmom.comI appreciate the help! Pam

I agree with you about the header. It feels off center to me, even though it's not because it's sitting over both the sidebar and the main content area.
On my screen your post meta data (post author/date/time/etc) is running across your post featured images and I can't read it most of the time. It seems like it should be in that grey strip across the bottom of each post snippet, but it's not. Because of this, it feels like all of your content is pulling to the left side of the screen and your design isn't balanced.
I recommend having post snippets. It's better to keep people on your blog longer.
I just completed a complete rebrand of my blog. So if you are thinking of doing it, do it. It's a lot of work, and can be rough but once you get through it and have a blog that really represents you and where you are in your blogging journey you will feel so much better about it and more inspired.
