Hi everyone! I started my blog a few days ago & I want to write pretty much everyday but when I go back to university I can't do that. Do you have any advice? I'm on holiday now for 5 weeks and I was thinking of posting 5 times a week while I'm at home but then when I actually "away" I don't even know if I will have internet access and going back to university will only allow me to write and post once a week. Do you suggest I just stick to once a week from the very beginning but still write all the posts I want to write so I can just publish them when necessary - like when I go away? Or do you think I can post 5 times a week and then just cut it down with a blog post explaining the sudden decrease? Thank you in advance Alexandra www.xandrarose96.blogspot.com

Hi @alexandra - Consistency is very important. Your audience learns to expect your posts on x, y, and z on particular days. So, it might be a good idea to stick with your current posting schedule. Posting 5 days a week, quality posts, is a lot of work. When you return to school you may not be able to keep up that pace and risk burn out.
Write quality posts and schedule them out for when you return to school. That way you don't have to worry about posting while doing your studies, you are writing quality pieces, and your are meeting (or exceeding) your audience expectations.
Hope this helps! Tammi

I used to post daily for my old job. Let me tell you it gets rough! Not to say it can't be done, but there are just times when it's really hard to write a decent post. Like frenchrobin said, consistency is important. I would use your time now to start writing and scheduling posts to use in the future. I think 2 or 3 times a week is plenty, however, school is important. Make sure whatever you choose is sustainable for you given your classes, extracurricular activities, and fun stuff. If you can only do once a week, or once a month that's fine. This is where writing now will come into play, if you have a backlog of posts waiting to be published, you can pull them out when you don't have time/inspiration to write something.

Exactly what Tammis said!
There's this thing I like to call "New Blogger High" that makes you want to write all the posts in the world, right now. So go ahead and write them! Write as much as you want and edit them, get your images done and then save them as drafts. Because there's going to come a time down the road when you feel like "Dudes, I've been doing this for months, and nobody's reading..." and you're going to want to quit. Having all those posts already written and ready to go will save your bootie when that moment comes. You can schedule them to post automatically while you're at school, or you can just save them as drafts and post them when you're ready.
