Let's talk about sponsoring others blogs. I usually see this via passion fruit. There seems to be certain groups of bloggers where you can tell they're all sponsoring each other's blogs. Do you think it's worth it to do this type of thing?
Have you done it? If so, how many adds did you purchase and for how long? Did you see a good return on traffic and long term growth?
Do you do this type of sponsorship on your blog for other bloggers? Do you see it as a way to make a decent income?
It kind of feels like buying friends to me. What do you all think? This has been weighing seriously on my mind for a few weeks now.

IMHO advertising is advertising. I don't see it as any different than buying ads on Google or Facebook or anywhere else.
I've done mostly free swaps. From some blogs I've seen no traffic, some have sent me some traffic. Usually it's a small amount of traffic and none of the swaps I've done have included social media shout outs or anything like that. I think it really depends on the blogs you advertise on. If it's a really similar blog with a similar niche you have a better chance of your ads doing well. Additionally, the overall design of your ads and the copy on them can impact how well they do. So it will probably take some trial and error to find out what works for you.

I have only done this once and it didn't bring me any traffic. I think collaborating with other bloggers, trading pins or guest posts, or even doing a more formal promotion to your email list is a great way to get traffic.

I've done it a few times, and when I have it's helped with my traffic. I only do a small handful of blogs at a time and I do the free swapping with them.
