susanf Happy to help! If you join a group and someone visits your FB profile, they'll only see the things you've chosen to make public. You can control all of that in your settings. I haven't played around with it in a while, but they have apparently fixed it so you can remain as anonymous as you want--I visited someone's profile yesterday and she didn't even have the friend request option available. I've been meaning to look into how she did that.

Hey guys I have to say that I mostly feel like you do about the social media opportunities. I don't have pinterest yet, but I really plan to have it, since it seems to be a quite nice traffic creator. Facebook is very difficult to handle, exactly because of the algorithms you already talked about. Facebook provides you with good statistics, but it is hard to reach your fans, because FB wants you to pay for your range. That's the reason why I love social media that don't have tailored content and provide me with every single piece of posted content (for me, those are instagram and tumblr. I also like Twitter, but in my opinion, there is too much advertisement for me to really enjoy it on the whole scale). A piece of advise I could give you for FB in general, not only the page you might have, is to find groups on FB to join where you can post links to your blog. Take care that you find groups with a relatively small amount of members. Google+ is the most confusing social media that I know. I don't understand the idea, and when Google forced YouTube users to integrate their pages etc., Google+ has since been some kind of an enemy. This feeling will probably never fade. And I think that the website sucks as well. I just can't get used to it or find my way through its difficulties. Sadly, YouTube belongs to Google, and it gets more and more difficult to stick out there as well. The algorithms really get small users (which you might be interested nevertheless) down and pushing the big ones up furthermore. I can't tell how much I dislike tailored content. I could go on about this forever, but I'll spare that I really like Instagram and use it on a daily basis. I love to see photos of others (and see every single photo they took), because it makes me take part of their lives - this is an emotional aspect which I want to share with my instagram followers as well. Any tips on what to take care of when starting your own Pinterest?
