I don't have a favorite, but Twitter is by far my biggest traffic generator, so I give it my attention. Pinterest is #2 on the list and although I'm not very active on Google+, I syndicate everything there to make sure Google knows to pay me a little attention ;-).
In terms of time management, I schedule all of my social shares using CoSchedule. When I create a post, I scroll down and schedule syndication for the day, the next day, the next week and the next month. It has been an incredible time saver and traffic booster. It does cost $10/month but it's so worth it and you can decrease your fee by writing about CoSchedule and making referrals. It's free for the first 30 days and if anyone wants to try it, I'd say let's use each other's referral links so that no one ends up paying the full price.
I also schedule using Hootsuite when the tweet or post is unrelated to my blog. It's great to be able to focus all of my energy on blogging and automate the sharing.

ALSO, the name the URL of your page option on Facebook does not work for me. I keep trying to get it to various things like Facebook.com/theartofbetter but anything I put in, even gibberish, shows up as unavailable.

Twitter is top for me also, closely followed by Pinterest. I also do almost nothing on G+ since I don't really know anyone in real life that uses it. Maybe that skews my opinion?

Jenn @ The Art of Better I grew my FB likes with giveaways primarily. I have very little engagement there and it's a mystery I'm trying to figure out. It seems that pages who post frequently throughout the day have better engagement. Finding something interesting enough to post that often is very hard for me. Another way to grow it is through blog communities that trade likes and shares. As far as the issue with changing the name, there used to be a rule that you couldn't do it until you had a certain amount of likes. I'm not sure if that still exists. Did you look through their support pages?

Yep, there seem to be other people having the same issue but no actual support on their forums.

I don't have a favorite any more. No one social media platform seems to work better than another for me and I'm not sure why that is.
I'm on Facebook the most because I utilize it often in a personal sense. So sometimes I see something funny and I share it over on my Facebook Fan Page. But for some reason, I have a hard time getting people to like the page in the first place - let alone stay there.
I have a huge Google+ following (what's huge to me anyways at over 2,000 people having me circled). But it's because I got on the G+ bandwagon in the very early days where everyone was following everyone they possibly could. I don't regularly use it because I don't care much for the platform and I felt overrun by the amount of super tech people there. I'm trying to get back into it now that more 'regular' people are using it.
Twitter seems to work well when I find the time to utilize it. It just goes by so fast for me! Too fast. I'm really not sure what I could do to make it easier on myself. I've tried HootSuite and several other web applications like it and still struggle with it. But I'm finally starting to interact with people so hopefully it'll yield better results here soon.
I really love Pinterest but I'm trying to be more judgmental now of the things I repin. I've found a lot of spam or things that don't lead to what I'm looking for. It's caused my pinning to slow down drastically. I'm super bummed about this.

OK, here's a question: how to do you keep track of them all? I have G+ and Facebook, and am followable on Bloglovin' (although I don't really use that), but it seems like these days I need a twitter and a pinterest as well! I have a personal Pinterest account already, and I can't imagine having two (I'm trying to keep my blog separate from my personal stuff). Same with twitter, I have one but I wasn't ever to keen on the platform and hardly use it.
I've heard before that you should stick to a few platforms and devote your time and energy to those, but even then I'm having trouble remembering to post stuff other than my blog updates. I have a hootsuite account, but I forget to use it and can't think of anything to share when I remember.

I just started a Facebook page, but I've been having trouble getting people to click on my blog posts...I was really hoping it would be a great source of generating traffic. I'm going to start sharing on Google+ with my circles, and I know I need to do a better job on Twitter!

Thanks for your 31 day social media series girlonthemove ! I am slowly working my way through it, and it is helpful! I love Pinterest and it makes sense to me ... but I need to devote some hours to making better use of it! My Facebook fan page is slowly growing. I have chosen to keep that separate from my personal page, which sometimes makes it a bit of a muddle. Biggest disadvantage is that I can't always follow the blogs that I want to with a fan page, and I can't join group communities. Anyone have any thoughts about using their FB personal page this way? Twitter - I get new followers every day - and I try to keep up ... but, honestly, I am totally confused by the whole Twitter thing! I actually love Google + (it makes the most sense to me), although I recently realized I have a profile, but need a Google+ Page to use Hootsuite. Not sure if I can have both?

susanf You can have both a personal and business page on Google + (and probably multiple pages in addition to those). I have one for both although I'm not a big Google + user. It's only really now starting to make sense to me. I keep my personal page and fan page separate on FB also. I join groups with my personal account and alternate between liking other blog pages as my personal page or fan page, depending on which ones I don't mind seeing in my personal stream. My personal FB page is the social network where I share more privately, so I keep that number low and only connect with actual family and friends. I do share my blog posts there though as it pulls in traffic for me. I get how you feel about Twitter--without creating groups and using Hootsuite, it would be way too much noise for me. It's a good traffic source for bloggers though.

Pinterest is my biggest platform at the moment. I have a Fb that very slowly grows. Twitter is something I just don't get. I don't see how it's relevant, or what the point of it all is!

zonemom Thanks so much for your helpful response. I will go ahead and get a Google+page in addition to my profile - I was hoping that I could! When you join a group with your Facebook personal account, do all members see the same FB content that someone you friend would? I assume they all see your full name. I have been trying to be a little anonymous with the public setting, on behalf of you family and friends ... but there are a few groups I'd really like to join. I sounds like I need to figure out the group thing on Twitter! Thanks for being so helpful! Hope I can return the favor one day!
