I saw in another post that several people mentioned tribes on Facebook. How did you find your tribes... just trough searches? Are any of your Tribes accepting members? I joined Triberr yesterday but need to sit down and spend more time on it.
Thanks for all the Help!

I don't have the best answer for this...I found a tribe by following a rabbit hole online. I think I saw something about Tribes in a comment on the old BloggingWithAmy.com site, and then I somehow ended up at a Facebook group and asked to join the private group. As soon as I was accepted, the group sort of fizzled out. So then I followed a few of the members to another group where we are struggling to survive. It's a small group and sometimes we're very active, sometimes not at all.
I would suggest small, private groups so that you can feel safe and benefit from one another. However, the problem is that everyone needs to participate in order for the group to thrive.
I'm an admin on my group and would be happy to see if the rest of the group wants new members. I'm even open to starting a new Tribe with people here who are interested.
The question is: do you want a tribe made up of only bloggers in your niche? Or would you prefer different types of bloggers in your group? There are pros and cons to each.
My particular tribe is made up of all different types of bloggers. Some are pretty successful already, some are just getting started, all different niches.

Katrina Thank you for your feedback! I can see how being in both types of Tribes are beneficial. I think I would like to participate in one of each (one niche oriented and one mixed). I think starting one might be a great idea for newbies like me, I'm sure they will be several others who might want to join.

kate0creativehouse, have you considered creating your own tribe group on Facebook? Post it in a thread here and there'll probably be some interest! I'm happy to create a group and invite everyone here--but I'm not exactly a Craft Blogger. I'm just helping to mentor this niche. I'd say I'm more of a lifestyle/parenting blogger. If you want to admin and create a group, I'd say go for it! If you want my help, I'd be happy to help create one with you or for you. If you want to create one and keep it only in your niche, no worries on my end--I won't be offended if I'm not part of the group! My suggestions would be to keep it somewhat small and either closed or secret. There can be problems with spammers and crazies and people who don't have the best intentions. I want to feel safe and supported when I'm part of a group. Just my two cents! :-)

I'm in a niche related tribe. When I first started blogging, another new blogger reached out to me and asked if I wanted to start one. It was just three of us at the beginning. Now there are 14. We want to keep it small enough that we can promote each other without feeling crazy, but it's also great that its grown because now we do monthly projects together and from time to time do giveaways. Just reach out to a few bloggers you follow who you think might be in a similar blogging stage as you and see if they would be interested in starting a group! It's definitely worth it! I've made friends and blog growth from it

I'd be interested in a Craft Bloggers Tribe. I have a friend who may be interested as well.
Thanks!
p.s. I can't get my SITS account to activate, so I have to post as a guest.

Thank for all the input Everyone! I think I will start with a niche related tribe at first! I will start a new thread once I get it up and going. I am a photographer also and admin a local group on facebook.... I don;t know why it never occurred to me to have one for blogging. Thanks again everyone!
