Okay, I know this is the topic that everyone was most looking forward to. No? Just me? I won't lie, I'm addicted to growing my traffic. I stalk my Google Analytic more than I stalk Black Friday ads. That's a lot. For me, I like to join link ups, utilize Pinterest, etc. Lately I've been obsessed with SEO. I use wordpress so I added the Yoast plug in and it's been so beneficial to see how I'm doing with SEO. SEO was one of those scary monsters for me... I didn't understand it so I stayed away from it. Such a mistake. Since I've started using it, I've gained SO MUCH traffic. So obviously I really recommend it! And now that the two year old has dumped an entire bag of cat food on the dining room floor, I'm going to scoot. What is it about 2 year olds and dumping things???

I wish I could say the same I've got virtually no traffic from Pinterest, and not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have been using SEO by YOAST as well, and not sure how it's helping me yet. I would be lucky to have a good day sometimes, though I get spikes in my traffic which gives me hope and then it dies down... I LOVE joining link up parties! I've got to know so many bloggers through this, and it does help my traffic on the days I do link up. How do you go about getting traffic from Pinterest? could you let me know what I could do? Or what I might be doing wrong?

Honestly? I think the thing that helps with Pinterest the most is having Pinterest friendly images. I've found that including a large vertical photo makes it much more visible on Pinterest. I always have an image that is 736 x 1138. Those pictures do so well on Pinterest!

thanks for that number. What if your blog is only 640 wide? That is the size I do all mine, although I hear the bigger one does better. I need to do more link ups, I have a tried a few, but not consistent.

I love the images that are all stacked together to create one long image, but I feel like that doesn't really go well with the photos I have right now. Pinterest and Google are tied for traffic. Yesterday, I actually got more search engine traffic than Pinterest. I would love to be able to maximize on that more. It is so tough though because you need to find recipes that are popular, but have low search engine competition so you rank high enough to get clicked.

Do you ever check your click through rate for your most popular search terms in Google webmaster tools. It's important that not only are you ranked highly by Google but also that people choose to click on your post and not someone else's. If you've got a term that you have a lot of views for but a low click through rate (and you think it's a relevant search term) then have a look at the way you appear in the search results and see if theres anything that could be improved.

I get tons of traffic from Pinterest. Not at the start, though. I began to get volume when I joined community pin boards where everyone pitches their stuff and repins everybody else (there are lots of those according to your blog niche), that got me noticed, and they say that pin parties are great also. I have not joined any of those yet, but the boards have been fabulous for me.
