All I know is that I use the Yoast SEO plug in, and do what it says in terms of keywords. Sorry I can't be of any help on this subject.

theimp, and mamarabia. I feel you! I didn't get a clear understanding of SEO until I read multiple articles over a long period of time; and the reality of it is that Google and other popular search engines change their rules and algorithms so much that it has to be something you continuously research and stay up on. CopyBlogger.com was a HUGE help for me in regards to figuring out the basics of SEO. All you have to do is register on their site (for free) and you can get free ebooks on the subject. Our own SITS girls have some great articles on their site that really break down the basics of SEO and keyword optimization. Just head to TheSITSGirls.com and type "SEO" in the search bar. SEO is very broad. If you have a specific question regarding it, let me know, and I'll try to help you get the answer. Hope that helps!

Some basic SEO tips to get you started (although @wegokidz is absolutely right that it is a deep-well subject that changes often): Think about what word or phrase you would use when google searching if you were looking for the information that will be in your post - that is your key word/phrase. Include it in the first three sentences of your post organically. Include it in your url. Include it in the sentence you use for alt info in one of your pictures (and remember that alt info is what will most likely populate as your pin description if people pin your post, so you are helping yourself out for Pinterest searches as well). Use your word or phrase, or a variation of it, a couple more times spread out throughout your post, but only if it fits naturally. Google can tell when you are "stuffing" those keywords, and they will penalize you for it. Usually you will find that in a focused post that word or phrase is appearing naturally as you write. Use it in your post description (or in blogger I think it is called "search description"?) as well, because that the little snippet people see about the post in a google search. If they can easily see you are, indeed, talking about that thing they searched, they are more likely to click through.

Tracie, I think that makes the most sense of anything else I've ever read on the subject. Clear, concise, and to the point! Brava!
