Hi all! I'm Katrina! I've been so busy mentoring in another niche that I haven't had time to browse my own niche and get some mentoring for myself!
I write at EmpiricalMom.com and PhilosophicalMom.com.
I'm a longtime blogger but I've only recently created my latest site--which I think is finally "the one" for me. It looks sparse right now because I'm still in the process of updating and publishing all my posts from previous blogs.
Anyway, my biggest weakness is my Header/Logo. I can tweak a design all day and night, but I never feel like my sites look professional or inviting enough.
I want minimalism and awesome!
I'm also really, really bad at networking and promoting myself. I just added a subscribe box for the first time ever. (I have a slight issue with vulnerability and actually publishing my writing.) And I totally need to improve my photography skills.
Here's my platform: I post down-to-earth, everyday stuff on Empirical Mom--recipes, family stuff, DIY, etc. I post my up-in-the-clouds thoughts and philosophies on Philosophical Mom. So they're kind of on opposite sides of life's spectrum and for difference audiences. But I want to keep them linked and the site designs similar.
For a header/logo, I'd like to incorporate an Exclamation Point (!) for Empirical Mom and a Question Mark (?) for Philosophical Mom. The problem is I've spent hours on Canva and PicMonkey and never get anywhere except elementary, cartoonish designs. I'm about to the point where I need to outsource.
Finally, I'd LOVE to find a writing partner or partners who are serious about wanting to give & receive support. I'd love someone to bounce ideas off from, brainstorm with, proofread posts before they go live, help with both the front-end and back-end of blogging, etc.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for any feedback!
