ohayokisaj - The best way I have found to make money is to first and foremost be honest about the concept of making money and possibly having a skill or talent to do this with. Like I do website/blog designs and linked my blog to this. I also, work with affiliate companies and do paid/sponsored reviews on my blog. But when I do write up reviews, I try my best to make them as personal as possible and that they are geared towards those who are reading my blog.

ohayokisaj, I agree with jnine0712. Be honest about making money. Also don't make your blog all about you making money. Don't make your content all about that; don't lose sight of the whole reason you started blogging. Also, make sure that it is relevant to your readers. Let us know if you have any other questions!

How do you find sponsors?

theimp, There are a couple of websites out there that will connect companies with bloggers so you can do sponsored posts. You might not get chosen every time for an offer because each company has specific criteria on what/who they're looking for. Some of the ones that I've worked with are Massive Sway (through The SITS Girls), Mom Central, Mom Spark Media, Sverve and IZEA. There are a couple more, but I am not at my computer right now to get the complete list. If you do a Google search you can find a bunch; just do your research on the company and make sure they are legit!

I've signed up with some websites that connect companies with bloggers but I haven't had any luck getting offered any sponsored posts yet. So far making money on my blog is a bust. Does it matter if you don't have a lot of blog followers whether you get picked or not?

Hi beachcomber, That all depends on what the companies are looking for. Each brand has certain criteria that they want the bloggers to have. There are also other ways to make money on your blog besides doing sponsored posts. For instance, Google Adsense, other ad companies or with affiliate companies.

Thanks, lauragelnett. I have signed up with Google Adsense, Amazon Associates, Massive Sway and Blogher. Maybe I need to do more in the way of advertising my blog. I am going to checkout the ones you mentioned above.
