Hi everyone! My name is Shana. I'm the chief media mixologist at www.Technotini.com (That's my clever way of saying I'm a lifestyle blogger writing about everything from cocktails/mocktails, recipes, parenting, pop culture, crafts, to wellness). I'd love to get everyone's feedback on my basic design. Do you think it's both reader-friendly and brand-friendly? I feel like something's missing--like it's lacking in something that would give it a bit more polish. Maybe more pictures? i don't know. Also-i know i have a lot of categories. i probably need to narrow it down a bit. Some of them are series selections (ex: Music Mondays or Wellness Wednesdays). Should i take those out of the top header and make a nav bar for them on the side? Thanks in advance for your advice. Cheers! Shana

First of all, very clever title for yourself!
I would add some type of image to the header and remove some of the categories at the top. I think it's helpful for people to be able to browse through categories but the sidebar is probably a better place for that. I would also see if you can get all of your sidebar images and badges lined up...either left justified or center.

Shana Hi Shana, I took a look for you, and YES, that navigation bar needs to be tidied up a bit! Will your theme allow you to have a drop down menu? It might make your navigation easier! I think it would help you get some stuff out of that sidebar as well. You have such a neat and clean theme, but your sidebar is FULL! If you tidied up that menu bar, you would be able to get rid of the archives etc. I didn't see a subscribe button anywhere? I saw social media etc., but no place to directly follow you. I think you could also pull all of those resource links to a new page on your new menu . I don't want to scroll all the way down to find those, (and you're inviting people to click off of your blog) but if you had a resource page, I would find that interesting and check it out. I think your photos on the site are great, and you don't need to change those at all. Ok, maybe change your profile photo to something more professional looking, but that is me, the kettle, calling the pot black. Overall, I think you have a good thing going, and those small changes would make a world of difference in getting people to stick around! Now, would you tell me how to get those fabulous "About me" sections in the sidebar? It's stumping me with my new theme. Thanks, Jill
