If you were to find the perfect supportive blog post for you as a food blogger or someone who posts recipes regularly, what sort of post would you like to read?
What kind of information are you looking for?

These are some incredible ideas, cookienameddesire! I think there are probably a ton of online groups out there, many on FB, but maybe you can look to start one by connecting with fellow food bloggers here? Lighting and food styling/props is great. I know nothing about that stuff and tend to take my food pictures with my cell phone right on the stove. Not always that enticing an image once it's done, though! What do you do currently for your pictures?

Right now I use a Nikon D3000... I have one wood board I made with craft wood and one side is white, the other is a darker brown. I prefer the way the white looks on photographs. Since I don't have another background, I use a foam board (sometimes with wood-looking craft paper on it) for my backdrop. I feel like I have no idea how to style food, so I keep it simple with a few pewter plates and antique utensils and a kitchen towel and that is it. My latest system is to photograph right after I make the food (process shots are too disruptive right now since the lighting in the kitchen sucks, but I'd love to get into it since people seem to love them). I usually do llight with a scrape to the right, sometimes to the left, depending on which window I am using. I love backlighting, but it limits the types of shots I can do since you will see my furniture in most angles.
I just joined one food blogger group which has been a treasure trove of information, hopefully once I get to know everyone better, I can really start to grow some nice bonds with people!
