Hi everyone, I joined yesterday to get some feedback on my blog. The main comment was that my homepage lacks personality. I completely agree but I'm not sure of the best way to add it. I'd love to know all of your opinions about what gives personality to a blog and helps you to connect with the blogger. I'm at myrecipebook.co.uk if you want to take a look and see what I mean.

I think a good first step would be a more interesting logo! It's the first thing that everyone sees. It might be worth the investment to have it professionally designed!

I agree with the header. For the longest time I used the regular format for the header before I decided to just sit down and make my own (it's not that hard if you have some skills with picmonkey or photoshop). I also think a new design might be helpful. I like how clean it is now, but it doesn't leave room to show more of who you are. I love to see a photo of you somewhere on the main page and a quick blurb about you. Is there a way to show some snippets of the test from each post on the main page under the photos? Maybe if you showed some of the content, it would draw people in more and get a little taste of your writing style and personality that way. Maybe there is a way you can also utilize that top bar where your social media buttons are so it has something fun and inviting?

Thanks for your comments, there's so great ideas there. I'll have to go away now and work my way through them.
