Hi everyone! I'm Laura and I blog over at laurasueshaw.comI'd love to know what you think of the design ~ navigation? sidebar contents? header & colors? and of course, anything else. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks and have a great week! :-)

Hi the light color for text needs to be darker. My eyes scanned right over without actual reading. Didn't catch my attention.
I get where you are going with color idea hmmm

laurasueshaw, I love the colors! To me, I think that having your navigation bars/ menus on top of each other looks a little cluttered. If possible, either make them into one or separate them by moving one to the top of your blog and leave the other where it is at. Also, maybe move your social media icons closer to the top of your sidebar. For me, if I read someone's blog post and I like what I read, if their social media icons are visible to me without scrolling, I am more likely to like their page because I don't have to go looking for them.

Including your header image you have about 5 fonts going on. You really don't want to have more than 3. Your sketchy thin font and the thicker cursive font are a bit much together (and the cursive one is a little tough to read in the small links). I'd choose one of these fonts as your main focus font (for menus H tags and the like) then find a simpler font to compliment it. I looks like you are using Josefin sans in your header image? That would look great in as your body font and make the whole thing look more cohesive.
The colors are nice and go well together.
I'd style your sign up widget in the sidebar so that it matches the style of your site (the top of it is also getting cut off by what's a head of it). Your sidebar is a lot a little cluttered, I think just unifying your ad sizes would help a lot.
On mobile, your header image is not responsive. I'd fix that especially since the rest of your site is responsive. Your header image gets cut off on mobile so your visitors might be like where am I? I can't read that!
I'd also suggest checking out your site's performance as it loaded a little slowly for me. Definitely try a caching plugin and optimizing your images if you haven't already.
Overall, it's a nice site and I think with a few more changes it could be really great!
