This is something I always struggle with. I like ads, but people don't click on them. Text links seem to be popular and I do some through Share a Sale. How do you get paid for blog advertising? Sponsored posts, product reviews, paid banner ads, affiliates?

Right now my focus is on sponsored posts and google ads. I plan on implementing more soon, but I'm trying to get to a place where I'm happy with my blog.

I don't do ads or text links but I do affiliates (like Amazon), and I do sponsored posts (through MassiveSway).

I do sponsored posts, Amazon affiliate links and adsense ads. I need to look into this more.

Purely affiliate marketing for both blogs - Amazon, Commission Junction, ShareASale, Affiliate Window. I stick with editorial content and use my affiliate links, which is working pretty well. Eventually, I want to create my own products instead of giving my traffic away, but that's a long term goal.
From my point of view affiliate marketing is a more effective way to monetise your blog than banner ads. But of course it depends on the type of traffic your blog attracts. I don't even like using my affiliate banners (I don't like my sidebars looking too busy). I've tested them though and hands down text links generate more revenue for me. Who knows, maybe I'll throw up some black Friday banners this year to test it again.
