Hey! I currently blog on Blogger and have 200,000-ish page views a month. As I prepare to switch to WP I was told I need a pro level hosting plan. For those with at least 200k PVs, who do you use? How much to you pay? How do you like it? Also, in your opinion am I definitely not able to go with a basic hosting plan right now? I'm trying to pay as little as possible and still avoid the stress of crashes

Check out www.HostGator.com as they offer several different plans. I am currently using their "Baby Gator" plan on which I host several different websites without any problem. I pay about $10/month so it's really not terribly expensive. If you are concerned, you can always talk to their tech support and ask them. They have been far more helpful than any other hosting company I have used. They will give you a straight up answer. For reference, I have used GoDaddy, JaguarPC, BlueHost and another who's name completely escapes me. If you do decide to check our HostGator, have 25% off your order on me KimiWho25OFF promo code.

I agree with @kimi Who. I have Host Gator too and I still use their "baby gator" plan even though I have a lot of page views each month. They are the only company I've ever used.

I use Hostgator too, but with much less traffic than you.
Straight up, shared hosting may not be the best solution for your traffic levels. I know of at least 5 people who've had their sites shutdown without notice on Hostgator because of the resource overload that their highly trafficked sites caused. Sure Hostgator say everything is unlimited. It really isn't.
For your traffic range you're probably looking at a VPS (virtual private server) or dedicated server and they can cost quite a bit more than shared hosting.
In either case, have a chat with Hostgator and see what they say.

I wouldn't go with shared hosting with that much traffic. I'd go with WordPress specific hosting from WPEngine, A Small Orange or someone like that (blue host also offers it). Shared hosting will probably be slow for you. A VPS or dedicated server will be the way you want to go.
FYI, Blue host & host gator are owned by the same company and use the exact same customer service people. So if you are deciding between the two the only difference is Blue Host has a way better designed cpanel & account area.

If you have 200,000 pageviews a month, @thegreenmtngirl is right, shared hosting isn't going to be enough (unless you don't mind slow internet). Go with WPenging, WebSynthesis, FlyWheel, or even Blue Hosts Managed WP.
