I have seen some great traffic so far from link ups and I think they can be fun, as long as they are not overdone.
What is everyone else's opinion on them?
I think I want to start one up. . . maybe on Mondays. Does anyone here run one and have some experience?

I used to run a link party for a friend of mine and ran some in the post with bloggy friends, they're great! Easy to do and can be lots of fun. I've been looking into maybe teaming up with someone to run one, but never got around to it really. If you start one, let us know. I'd definitely love to join in!

I offer link up services so I am happy to answer any questions you have about link ups...because I've seen the great, the good, the bad and the ugly! I think they can definitely be a good thing...if done well!

I really like link ups, but I get turned off when I see there are tons of people I have to follow across lots of platforms to participate! Especially when I love a couple of the bloggers, but there's one who maybe blogs about something I can't relate to at all or maybe even supports (and posts often about) some ideas I disagree with. Of course, it's not cool to add my link and get the benefits while not playing by the rules, so I move on.

I've wanted to get involved in link ups too. Looks like a great way to meet people.

I love Linkups! I have been participated in several related to workouts, health, and fitness, which is part of my blogging niche. It's a GREAT way to meet bloggers and get new eyes on your blog. Unfortunately the SITS Sharefest linkup hasn't attracted any readers for me lately...I'm still a VERY small potatoes blogger though...sadly I can rarely get over 200 views per post.
I would love to be a part of a new linkup group. I always wonder how people start their tribes!

GREAT! Love the interest. I see that most link ups are dominated by craft/DIY/religious posts. . . I would like to run one that is a little different but don't want an exclusionary feel. hmmm. What do you think about listing a few desired categories for posts such as style/finance/growth/health/food/parenting/professional? Anything I am missing?

I do link ups from time to time, I'm running one now for holiday guides. I'm also the chief of a Tribe on Triberr. Most of the members in my Triberr group share often and it really helped me gain more followers on Twitter and increased traffic to my blog. I also like it because it adds more variety to my Tweets, which in turn, boosts my Twitter analytics. The trick with Triberr is getting into groups that stay active. Always check the dates of last activity and the combined social reach before joining. Here's mine if you are interested. triberr.com/pages/tribe-details.php?tribe=40074

I think the worst thing you can do with a link up is be inconsistent! It drives me a crazy when a Tuesday link up posts some Tuesdays but not others...and there seems to be no rhyme or reason! You don't have to host the link up every week but then pick a schedule (like once a month) and stick to that!

I run a link up every Monday and it does quite well. My site is about baking so I decided to call my party "Mix it up Monday." This gives other people a chance to share anything they'd like (not just food). I've met so many talented bloggers and made a lot of new friends too. I host the party myself and I'll be honest, at times it can be overwhelming. I try to comment on as many blogs that I can, I pin and also share on my facebook. I'm grateful that people are taking the time to share so I like to return the favor by sharing on my social media accounts. I also do a feature post on Wednesday which showcases four bloggers. If you have any questions please email me at flourmewithlove@gmail.com and stop over next Monday and join the fun! www.flourmewithlove.com/

It drives me crazy when I want to link up but have to follow 7 hosts on all social media platforms. I can see maybe the host and the rest be optional.

Ok. I am going to go with every other Monday I think.
Last thing I can't figure out is what are everyone's thoughts on co-hosts? Purpose? Optimal number, if any?
